The Modern Approach to
Professional Cleaning

At Clinique Dentaire Chantepoulet, we believe it is essential to offer you different approaches to best meet your needs and sensitivity.

GBT (Guided Biofilm Therapy) scaling is a cleaning method that emphasizes comfort and precision, specifically targeting biofilm, the accumulation of bacteria responsible for gum problems and cavities.

What is GBT (Guided Biofilm Therapy)?

GBT is a modern, minimally invasive preventive and therapeutic approach to dental care that is revolutionizing the way we take care of your smile.

It focuses on biofilm, the invisible mass of bacteria that constantly forms on your teeth. If not removed, biofilm is responsible for tooth decay, gingivitis, and periodontitis.

The principle: Guide cleaning to target only what is necessary, for complete care that respects enamel and tissue.

GBT vs. Standard Scaling: Transparency and Informed Choice

We are proud to offer both Standard Teeth Cleaning and GBT
for only $160 and $110 for children up to 13 years old.
Your dental hygienist will help you choose the method best suited to the current condition of your mouth,
your sensitivities, and the presence of any devices (implants, orthodontics, etc.).

Feature GBT scaling Standard scaling
(Ultrasound)
POSITIVE POINTS (FOR) Maximum comfort and painless treatment. High precision thanks to biofilm detection. Ideal for sensitive patients, children, and implant maintenance. Highly effective at removing hardened and large tartar deposits. Fast and proven approach. Often more affordable.
NEGATIVE POINTS (CONS) May be slightly more expensive due to the technology and specific powders used. Less suitable for very old tartar requiring mechanical force. May cause acoustic and vibration sensitivity. Less effective at
removing stains and fresh biofilm without additional polishing.
MAIN ACTION Removal of biofilm (bacterial plaque), recent deposits, and stains. Removal of hardened tartar below and above the gum line.

Our Goal, Your Healthy Smile

Our Goal: Your Healthy Smile
Whether you choose cutting-edge GBT technology for optimal comfort or the proven power of Standard Scaling for heavy buildup, the Chantepoulet team is committed to providing you with meticulous, professional care.

GBT is your ally if: You prioritize comfort, gentleness, and maintenance of your dental devices.

Standard scaling is recommended if: You have significant tartar buildup that requires more powerful mechanical intervention.

⁨⁨The 8 GBT Steps:

The GBT technique follows a strict 8-step protocol, using state-of-the-art equipment such as Airflow and Piezon NO PAIN.

1. Biofilm Revealing (The “Guide”)
We apply a plaque disclosing agent (a non-toxic dye) that colors the biofilm, making it visible. This allows us to know exactly where to clean.

2. Education and Motivation
Thanks to this coloring, we show you the areas where your brushing could be improved, helping you optimize your daily hygiene.

3. Airflow: Precision Cleaning
This is the key step and the most enjoyable one! We use the Airflow device, which sprays a jet of warm water, air, and cleaning powder (often erythritol-based) onto your teeth.
This gentle jet effectively removes the revealed biofilm, stains, and incipient deposits, even in hard-to-reach areas.

4. Piezon NO PAIN: For Resistant Tartar
For older, mineralized tartar deposits, we use Piezon technology. Thanks to ultra-thin inserts and minimal vibrations, tartar is removed painlessly and without damaging the enamel.

5. Check-up
We check that all plaque and tartar have been removed.

6, 7 & 8. Fluoride, Check-up and Reminder
Application of fluoride to remineralize the enamel and provide personalized advice for home care.
